Nest Egg Developments is a growing but well established company who undertake all manner of construction projects including speculative housing, commercial refurbishments and numerous large and small scale domestic projects. The value of domestic projects ranges from £10K to £100K and the commercial projects range from £20K to £600K.

Nest Egg Developments is run on a day to day basis by the four Directors Ben Manning, Richard Tonks, Graham Ball & Ian Kitching who form a young, dynamic and very experienced management team who are pushing the company on to bigger and better things. They oversee a continually growing team on a number of projects at any one time, with each project being allocated its own dedicated team. Where/if required, these teams consist of a project manager who oversees a number of joiners, bricklayers, roofers, electricians, plumbers, plasterers and apprentices (and, for larger schemes, steel fabricators and demolition teams).

Nest Egg Developments also employ estimators and a quantity surveyor for larger projects, who liaise closely with clients and architects to ensure that budgets and timescales are adhered to.

Snooker Club/Bar

Nest Egg Developments undertook a large scale refurbishment of a dilapidated mill and converted it into a snooker hall, bowling alley, large bar, commercial kitchen and restaurant. The project was completed from start to finish in 3 months.

Phase 1 – Structural Works

Nest Egg Developments won a tender to carry out the first phase works of a retail fit out. This involved major structural works (steel erection, demolition and under pinning) to transform a former employment centre into an open plan retail unit.

Timescales were of paramount importance and the project was successfully managed to ensure that the programme was met.

Phase 1 – Indian Restaurant - Structural Works

Nest Egg Developments won a competitive tender to carry out the first phase works of an Indian restaurant in a city centre location. This involved large structural works including propping and needling with the erection of massive steel beams and pillars.

Office Fit out

Nest Egg Developments were commissioned to convert a building in a town centre location into numerous offices with kitchens and WC facilities.

The office fit out included intercom systems, networking points, complex alarm systems and suspended ceilings.

Single Storey Extension

Nest Egg Developments built this single story extension as a garden room for the client. It consisted of new foundations and drainage in the ground and a double skin brick shell with traditional roof and velux roof lights. A new kitchen was fitted internally.

Garage Conversion

Nest Egg Developments were commissioned to convert a double garage into a two storey ‘granny flat’.

The existing roof was removed and the walls raised to form the second floor on which a new roof, consisting of a large dormer window and velux roof lights, was built. A new ground floor construction was also installed and new bedrooms, kitchen, bathroom, staircase and lounge were created.

Two Storey Extension

Nest Egg Developments were commissioned to demolish an existing garage and construct a natural stone, two storey extension to a cottage overlooking West Yorkshire. A utility room, wash room, dining room and sitting room were created with a solid wood staircase and solid timber floors. Externally, a timber balcony was constructed under which a cobbled court yard and driveway were laid.

Single Storey Extension

Nest Egg Developments built this single story extension as a garden room for the client. It consisted of new pad foundations and drainage in the ground and a double skin brick shell with traditional roof and velux roof lights. A new kitchen was fitted internally.

Speculative House Building

We have an established history of speculative house building. One example is the development of a plot of land with planning permission to build four natural stone houses in West Yorkshire. The project involved largescale excavation and footing works with reinforced concrete retaining structures. The houses consist of four bedrooms, a house bathroom, two ensuite bathrooms, kitchen, living room and a large utility room - all connected with a large spiral staircase over three floors.

Planning Applications/Feasibility Studies

Nest Egg Developments work closely with a number of architects and engineers to collate and submit planning applications and feasibility studies for clients.

Chartered Landscape Architecture/Garden Design

Nest Egg Developments have a chartered landscape architect in the team who is capable of carrying out anything from the smallest garden design to some of the largest retail parks and office development design.

Health & Safety

Health & Safety is taken very seriously by Nest Egg Developments. They employ a Health & Safety consultant who undertakes site spot-checks to ensure that the sites are being run to the highest of standards and also to provide another perspective on any matter that might have been overlooked. Nest Egg Developments provide all of their own method statements and risk assessments and ensure that all employees and sub contractors wear the appropriate personal protective equipment at all times on site.
